Blogs for leaders
As a leader of a school or school district blogs can be a vital way to convey information from the school to home. Blogs can also be useful in trying to get more people in the community involved in the school.
Action Research
Based on my readings from, "Leading with passion and knowledge: The Principal as Action Research by Nancy Fichtman Dana" I have learned that while I might not have been using action research from an educational standpoint I have been using it in many other aspects of my life. Action research has helped my family in our family farming business on many occasions. Very often we have to take a step back and evaluate what we are doing and does it work and more often than not we make changes.
As a principal or administrator I think that this can be a vital tool for everyone on campus. It is important to be able to see what is working and can we improve things on a daily basis. I also think that the principal should encourage everyone on the faculty to take time out of their schedule occasionally to take part in action research. As a campus when everyone takes a step back as a whole and evaluates what is going on it can only have a positive outcome.
I as an administrator would always take notice of what I discover because I truly believe that we always need to improve as much as possible to try to do a better job. I think in the long run this can be very beneficial to everyone on campus.
